Flocked swabs are ideal for use in medical and rapid diagnostic tests because the material providers superior specimen collection than comparable swab materials.¹ The flocked material effectively collects and rapidly releases cells when necessary, making them an effective single-use tool. Instead of a regular cotton swab that is tightly wound, a flocked swab's material allows for hundreds of thousands of contact points, meaning flocked swabs can more effectively be used in specimen collection.
